Fees and Insurance Information
Neeley Psychological Services believes that psychological evaluations should be as accessible and affordable as possible. For this reason, we make efforts to accept select private insurance plans, even though insurance reimbursement rates for psychological assessment are often significantly lower than the out-of-pocket rates charged by many providers.
Transparent private-pay rates are posted below and are confirmed with clients once the scope of the evaluation is established. We do not add surprise charges during the evaluation process. When insurance is used, we attempt to verify benefits and inform clients of anticipated out-of-pocket expenses, which may include deductibles, co-payments, and co-insurance.
While we have successfully billed private insurance for hundreds of evaluations over the years, insurance processing is not always predictable. Claims may occasionally be denied for reasons outside of our control. Coverage can vary widely based on the specific insurance plan, geographic location, telehealth versus in-person services, type of evaluation, and evolving determinations of medical necessity. Although we do our best to provide accurate estimates, there may be variables that cannot be fully anticipated at the outset. As a result, the final amount owed may differ from the initial estimate provided.
If insurance is used, clients are ultimately responsible for understanding their policy benefits, coverage limitations, and financial obligations, including confirming that the evaluating provider is in-network with their insurance plan. Please note that we are unable to accept Medicaid or state insurance plans.
Dr. Neeley, Dr. Stubblefield, and Dr. Young are each individually credentialed with private insurance companies. Because credentialing is provider-specific, an insurance plan may be accepted for one provider but not another. For example, a plan may be accepted for an adult evaluation with Dr. Neeley or Dr. Young but not for a child or adolescent evaluation with Dr. Stubblefield, or vice versa. Insurance participation may also vary between Dr. Neeley and Dr. Young even when both providers offer adult evaluation services.

Private Pay Rates
Neeley Psychological Services offers competitive out-of-pocket rates for individuals and families who do not have insurance coverage for evaluation services or who prefer not to use their insurance.
All evaluations begin with a required $250 intake appointment, billed separately from the tiered evaluation fees below.
Evaluation fees are based on the scope and complexity of the assessment rather than simply the number of appointments required. Although evaluations across different tiers may involve a similar number of sessions, higher-tier evaluations generally involve more extensive testing, additional clinical data, more rating scales and scoring, and greater indirect clinical time devoted to reviewing records, integrating findings, diagnostic formulation, and report preparation.
The examples below illustrate common evaluation pathways. The appropriate tier is determined after the intake appointment based on the referral questions, scope of the evaluation, and assessment procedures needed.
Tier 1 Evaluation: $1,250
Common examples include:
Adult Autism-only evaluation, generally completed in one evaluation session
Adult ADHD-only evaluation, generally completed in one evaluation session
Tier 2 Evaluation: $1,750
Common examples include:
Adult Autism and ADHD evaluation, generally completed in one to two evaluation sessions
Autism evaluation for children ages 2.5–7 that includes cognitive or developmental testing, generally completed in one to two evaluation sessions
ADHD evaluation for children ages 5–7 that includes cognitive or developmental testing, generally completed in one to two evaluation sessions
ADHD and/or Autism evaluation for adolescents ages 16–17 using clinical interview-based assessment, generally completed in one to two evaluation sessions
Tier 3 Evaluation: $2,250
Common examples include:
Combined ADHD and Autism evaluation for children ages 5–7 that includes cognitive or developmental testing, generally completed in two evaluation sessions
ADHD evaluation for children and adolescents ages 8–15 that includes cognitive testing, generally completed in two evaluation sessions
Autism evaluation for children and adolescents ages 8–15 that includes cognitive testing, generally completed in two evaluation sessions
ADHD or Autism evaluation for adolescents ages 16–17 that includes cognitive testing, generally completed in two evaluation sessions
Tier 4 Evaluation: $2,500
Common examples include:
Combined ADHD and Autism evaluation for children and adolescents ages 8–17 that includes cognitive testing, generally completed in two evaluation sessions
Tier 5 Evaluation: $2,750
Common examples include:
ADHD and Specific Learning Disorder evaluation for children and adolescents ages 5–17, generally completed in three evaluation sessions
Autism and Specific Learning Disorder evaluation for children and adolescents ages 5–17, generally completed in three evaluation sessions
Tier 6 Evaluation: $3,250
Common examples include:
Comprehensive Autism, ADHD, and Specific Learning Disorder evaluation for children and adolescents ages 8–17, generally completed in three evaluation sessions
Intake Session (required for all evaluations): $250
Convenient Payment Plans
Neeley Psychological Services now offers several payment plan options for private pay clients or those with larger amounts owed ($300+) from insurance deductibles, co-pays, or co-insurance. We do not offer payment plans for the intake appointment cost ($250), which must be paid at the time of service. The following payment plans are available for accounts owing $300 or more:
3-month plan: no additional fee
6-month plan: +$15 service fee
12-month plan: +$25 service fee
